What is a VirtualSpace?

A VirtualSpace is a 3D Digital Twin of an actual real-world space captured by a 3D camera. The 3D cameras and sofware technology that we use to create a VirtualSpace is developed by a company called “Matterport”. We use this to create the highest quality virtual tours & digital twins on the market.

Where do we offer 3D Capture Services?

VirtualSpace 3D Capture Specialists can reach anywhere in the United States, as well as most major cities of the globe. 95% of the time, we don’t charge any travel fees because VirtualSpace is part of On-Sight 3D Capture Alliance, the network of elite 3D Capture Specialists with global coverage.

How long does it take to schedule a 3D Capture?

In many cities, a 3D Capture Specialist can be at your space as early as tomorrow, but we always prefer a few days heads up.

How long does it take for me to receive my VirtualSpace after the capture?

Once your space is captured, we then process the model over the next day or so. Once it’s ready to view, we run a quality control check. Anything that needs to be adjusted is taken care of, then it’s re-processed. From there, we begin adding things like the title, contact information, labels, and more. Within just a few days, we’re ready to share it with you

What deliverables do I receive?

VirtualSpaces are high quality digital twins that take up a lot of storage, but lucky for you, they’re hosted online. Because they’re hosted online, all we have to do is share a link with you in order to view it. With that being said, what you receive as a deliverable is a direct link to the VirtualSpace 3D Tour (Matterport), as well as an embed code so that you can embed it on your website if needed. The beauty of a direct link is that you can share it anywhere.

How long does it take to scan a space?

It depends on the square footage of the space. For 10,000 square feet it would roughly take 1-2 hours.

How long is the tour active?

The first 6 months are FREE! After 6 months, the hosting access turns into a monthly subscription that can be canceled at any time. From there, it's only $5-$10/month. The difference depends on how many models you're hosting with us long term

What is local SEO and how does it help my business?

Local SEO is how to rank high for location-based keywords on Google. For instance, if you’re trying to rank for “restaurants in NYC” or “retail stores in NYC”, virtual tours help to attract new customers to your business! On top of this, they’re also great for adding new content to your Google My Business account.

What are mattertags?

Mattertags expands upon the 3D immersive virtual tour experience by embedding text descriptions, video, audio, photos, and more, right into your 3D Spaces.

What preparation should I do before the shoot?

We recommend to turn on all the lights, open the shades, and prop open the doors leading to all the areas that you would like to be in the 3D tour. It's also recommended to take all the floor mats, rugs and any other extra items out of the space. The bathrooms should also be clean and presentable. The best way is to treat it as if a client was coming for a walkthrough!

How is our 3D Model different from a typical panoramic photo?

A panoramic photo depicts a space from one fixed viewpoint and lets you turn left or right. A 3D Model lets you walkthrough the space to experience it as if you were there. With all directional movements and zoom capabilities, it is the next best thing to being there.

What about scanning outdoor spaces?

The Matterport camera is primarily used for indoor spaces and does not function as well in sunlight or in wide open spaces. However, several convention center models have had success with exterior spaces such as pools and patios when there is no direct sunlight (such as at dawn or dusk) and the proper accommodations are taken. Our team of specialists can help you plan for a special use scenario so that your entire space can be properly captured.
